About CheckRig

CheckRig is a free, browser-based diagnostic toolkit that helps you test and verify your computer hardware and peripherals — without installing any software.

Whether you are troubleshooting a sticky key, checking for dead pixels on a new monitor, verifying your microphone before a meeting, or testing a gamepad for stick drift, CheckRig gives you the tools you need in seconds.

Instant & Free

All tools run directly in your browser. No downloads, no installs, no sign-ups, and no fees.

Privacy First

Every test runs locally on your device. We never collect, store, or transmit your hardware data.

Works Everywhere

Built with modern web standards. Works on Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge across desktop and mobile.

Why We Built This

Too often, testing basic hardware requires downloading sketchy utilities or navigating bloated apps full of ads. We wanted a cleaner alternative: a lightweight, ad-respectful site where every tool loads instantly and works right in the browser tab you already have open.

How It Works

CheckRig uses standard browser APIs — the Gamepad API, Web Audio API, MediaDevices API, Screen API, WebGL, and more — to interact with your hardware directly. Because everything runs client-side, your data never leaves your machine.

Open & Transparent

We believe diagnostic tools should be free and accessible. CheckRig is supported by non-intrusive advertising that never interferes with your testing experience. No paywalls, no premium tiers, no data harvesting.
