- What is key rollover?
- Key rollover refers to how many keys a keyboard can register simultaneously. N-key rollover (NKRO) means every key can be pressed at once. Budget keyboards may only support 2-key or 6-key rollover.
- What is key ghosting?
- Key ghosting occurs when a key press is not detected because other keys are already held down. It is a hardware limitation of the keyboard's key matrix, not a software issue.
- Why isn't my key being detected?
- Some keys (like the Windows/Super key or certain function keys) may be intercepted by your operating system before reaching the browser. This is normal and not a keyboard defect.
- Can this test detect mechanical switch issues?
- This tool can detect keys that don't register or appear stuck, which may indicate switch problems. However, it cannot diagnose specific switch issues like chattering. For that, a dedicated switch tester is needed.
